Meet the Team
Shannon Wood
Owner/ Trainer/ Hiker
Pronouns: (he/him)
Hi, I’m Shannon Wood, the owner of The Good Hound (TGH)! TGH originally opened in 2012. I started working for TGH in 2013 with a lot of dog experience under my belt. Growing up in Maine, my mom owned and operated a boarding and grooming kennel. Some of my earliest memories are of playing with the dogs we took care of. Having a passion for dogs, I went to Mount Ida college to study Vet Tech and graduated in 2013. After graduation, I began my journey at TGH not knowing how far it would lead me.
With the support of family, friends, and TGH I felt empowered to step into my identity and begin my transition. This company has not only created and held a safe space for me, it has nurtured my passion for caring and training dogs. With that, I decided to become the owner when the opportunity arose. It was made official in September of 2021.
As a queer, trans business owner it is important to me to cultivate a culture of inclusion. Creating a safe environment for our staff to be their unique selves is our priority. At TGH, we will continue to strive to hire folks who represent the diversity of our communities.
As a dog trainer, I love to work with clients and their dogs to improve their communication and therefore their relationship. With a great relationship and clear communication, you can achieve wonderful things!
Siobhan Coyne
Head Trainer / General Manager
Pronouns: (she/they)
Hi! I’m Siobhan and I have had the pleasure of loving the dogs at The Good Hound since 2016. I grew up in Massachusetts with our family dog Chloe and I graduated from Lesley University with a focus on Human Services and social work. I loved working with people, but was always drawn to animals and dogs in particular.
After being a counselor for several years, I started at The Good Hound as a hiker and immediately fell in love with the relationships and styles of communicating with the dogs. Being out in the woods, in any weather, hiking with dogs was and still is extremely rewarding. After a couple of years, I adopted my first dog Marty and he was a bit of a wild one! He struggled a lot with strangers, leash reactivity, and greeting other dogs which really shifted my focus to learning different methods of training. While working with Marty I started attending seminars, shadowing sessions, and eventually began training at The Good Hound.
My favorite part of training is building relationships with dogs and their owners, doing my best to understand what motivates each individual dog, and seeing them gain understanding and confidence. When I am not working I like to hike, travel, and am learning about the sport of Dock Diving with my new dog, Bobby!
Cassidy MacLellan
Junior Trainer/ Assistant Manager / Hiker
Pronouns: (she/her)
Hi, my name is Cassidy! I grew up in Rhode Island and moved to Boston in 2018. I've been working with TGH as a dog walker since January 2020. In the last year or so I’ve been working my way towards becoming a dog trainer as well!
I started working with TGH with minimal dog experience under my belt. I had worked for one other dog walking company beforehand and unfortunately never had dogs growing up. This wasn’t supposed to be anything more than a fun job where I could hike with some amazing dogs. Over time I realized how beneficial it would be for both myself and the dogs if I had more knowledge and understanding of why dogs act the way they do and how I could work with them in a way that makes sense for both of us. After expressing my interest to Shannon and Siobhan I was able to start shadowing training sessions thus beginning my dog training journey. I have learned so much from these guys and continue to learn new things every day.
I had no idea when I started this job that it would lead me to find a career path that I loved. I am so thankful for TGH for supporting me in these last years and I cannot wait to see where it leads!
Fun fact: I have 31 tattoos (so far)
Ris Sherwood
Hiker
Pronouns: (he/they)
Hi, I’m Ris and I’ve been hiking with your wonderful dogs since June of 2021! I grew up in Plymouth, and I am the youngest of 3 (but still the tallest)! I have a soft spot for rescue dogs and, as of right now, my family has 2 named Bobo and Toulouse. If I could, I would rescue them all!
Jojo Villanueva Morales
Hiker
Pronouns: (she/her)
Hi, I’m Jojo! I started with TGH in February of 2024. My dog Justin and I have lived in Needham since moving from Puerto Rico in 2010. Justin is 14yo Schnauzer that’s LOVES the snow and has played a big part in teaching me responsibilities. I’ve worked customer service for 6+ years and always felt a need for change. When I saw an opportunity to work with dogs, I knew I had to jump at the chance!
Adrianna Rondeau
Hiker
Pronouns: (she/her)
Hi, I’m Adrianna! I’ve been with TGH since August of 2024. I used to live in NH but moved to Waltham a few years ago. I've had animals of all kinds my entire life with a minimum of 2 dogs until I moved. Currently I don't have pets but I help take care of my mom's 4 dogs: Karma (a German Shepherd), Darcy (a miniature pinscher mix), Roxie (a Bernese mountain dog mix), and Molly (a Shar Pei mix).
Max Copes-Finke
Pet Sitter
Pronouns: (he/him)
Hey, I’m Max! I’ve been with TGH since August of 2024. I’m from Belmont, MA and still live there. I recently graduated from Northeastern University studying psychology. Though I never had pets growing up, I always loved animals. Ever since my girlfriend’s family got two doodles a couple years ago, they have been my best friends! It’s one of my favorite things in the world to see how happy and alive they get when they’re out in nature, running, exploring, sniffing around. I am super excited to be able to work with dogs and give them that same fun and nourishment that they deserve!
Sam Knox
Pet Sitter
Pronouns: (she/her)
Hey, I’m Sam! I started out as a hiker with The Good Hound in November 2021 and now offer pet sitting! I grew up on Cape Cod, then moved to North Attleboro in middle school. After graduating from a vocational high school in the Graphic Communications program, I chose to continue pursuing art. I then attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design and graduated in May 2021 with a BFA in Graphic Design. I am a freelance designer when I’m not working with dogs. I currently have an American Foxhound rescue named Harvey, and he has come a long way behaviorally! Since working closely with an animal behaviorist to improve Harvey's well-being, and growing up loving dogs all my life, I've realized my commitment to improving the lives of as many dogs as I can.
